🧭 THIS WEEK AT BuildProven

Howdy, flying back out from Adelaide today and sorry, but the newsletter is late again :(. Been a bit busy trip but good to hang out with family and see some of Adelaide and the Hills again. Didn’t get to Victor Harbour though, so do that next time. Not happy with the way beehiiv does streaks as I lost mine last week when posting late.

The two big things I caught recently -

  • GPT-6 released - I’m now using codex 90%+ for building and it seems pretty good. Where OpenAI is making headway is token efficiency. Claude needs more of this!

  • Some push to slow down AI development. I think actually this is needed. The technology is of course incredible and can and will do a lot of good, but we must have sufficient control of it!

as usual, would love it if you could share this newsletter, give feedback via the poll at the end, or best, just hit 'reply' and tell me what you need/want with AI. I will definitely reply and try to help best i can.

🧰 Worth Your Click

  • Learn AI Agents Free: The Agent Course — A free, ordered course on AI agents: 21 lessons from what an agent is to production patterns, tools, and case studies. Start at lesson one and skip the hype.

  • The Future Tech Role Is the Product Architect — As agents get better at implementing and reviewing software, the human role moves toward specifying and deciding. The same shift this newsletter keeps arguing for.

  • Building a software factory for AI SDK — Vercel put agents on their own issue queue with humans controlling every merge. Four weeks in, agents author a quarter to two-fifths of merged pull requests.
